Hi Alexander,

LXQt is, like KDE, a Qt-based desktop environment. It can be lighter than KDE, but it’s also less featureful. MATE is a fork of pre-3.0 Gnome and is also lightweight; in some circumstances it can provide a better experience than LXQt would.

My personal recommendation for ppc32 computers would be MATE.
